ConocoPhillips is proud of the role we play in supporting community development initiatives that are not limited to our performance as an oil and gas producer, but will ensure a lasting contribution to the Timor-Leste community. The program is designed to give selected Timorese Nationals important skills and knowledge necessary for future employment. Participants can then apply for a 12 month internship with ConocoPhillips, to gain invaluable oil and gas industry experience.
Stage One: 6 Month Foundational Skills Program for recent University graduates
We are excited to offer up to ten recent university graduates the opportunity to be part of our Foundational Skills Training Program. The Program will provide an overview of the oil and gas industry; safety; training in computer literacy and communication skills – all essential for future employment.
We are seeking applications from graduates in the following disciplines:
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
- Engineering
- Finance
- Commercial
- Exploration and Development (Geology and Geoscience)
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management
To be considered for a place in the program, applicants will need:
- Timor-Leste citizenship or permanent residency (essential).
- Technical degree in one of the disciplines listed above.
- The ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate behaviours that support our ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Values of Safety, People, Integrity, Responsibility, Innovation and Teamwork.
- English fluency, both written and verbal.
- To be eligible for a visa to undertake training in Australia.
Applicants who are accepted into the Program will be paid an allowance during the training. The Program will be conducted at Dili in Timor-Leste and Darwin in the Northern Territory, and accommodation and meals (or a meals allowance) will be provided in Darwin during the Darwin-based training sessions.
Stage Two: 12 Month Conocophillips Internship
Participants who successfully complete Stage One are eligible to apply for up to five internship positions within ConocoPhillips, based either in Dili, Perth or Darwin. Intern selection is based on performance, attendance and competencies achieved during Stage One.
Interns will have the opportunity to work within departments relevant to their discipline, gaining valuable work experience and employment skills. Excellent remuneration and benefits will be provided during the Internship. At the completion of the Internship, participants will be awarded a certificate of accomplishment.
Please note that successful completion of either stage does not guarantee continued employment with ConocoPhillips.
